About Dave's music; allot of the solos in Dave's music are spontaneous and are not played exactly the same every time, while other parts and solos are kept basically the same, some variation is often present in many of these parts as well, Dave's music is always evolving and Dave often plays more intricately at live gigs than Dave does on recordings. Dave just lets the improvisation flow at a live gig, on a good night when Dave is really cooking Dave will fire up and do some incredible amazing things, Dave recons he doesn't know exactly what he does all of the time, it just comes out. Some of the parts in Dave's music rely on a theme and this theme is often varied upon, although the music still has a recognisable structure that is kept to. Apart from this Dave utilizes many ides, riffs and runs with variations that are incorporated into a unique playing style that is colourful and versatile.

More on Dave's music; Dave does not usually play the same pieces at a live gig as Dave does on his recorded albums, except for two or three tracks that Dave likes to play allot. Dave mostly likes to play his new material at a live gig. Dave says this way he can let his music evolve for a while before recording it. Dave also likes to play a lot Blues, Boogies, Funk and Rocky standard progressions at his live gigs as well.
Dave's Equipment; Dave uses different equipment for different gigs, for very small venues Dave uses a small amplifier rig capable of up to 80 watts but never likes to push it up to this level. For a medium small venue Dave likes to use another 150 watt Amp along with the 80 watt rig. For a larger venue Dave likes to use a 150 watt amp along with a 700 watt PA system with another 300 watts of foldback. Offcourse if space is limited the PA gear has to be limited to half of this or less.
Other Equipment: Dave doesn't use very much other equipment just a few effects, the standard sort of things like distortion, delay, echo, reverb, chorus, phalanger, phaser, compression, war war. Dave does not usually use all of these effects at live gig's and likes to stick to just a few effects at a live gig.
